Upgrading Ardour...

I presently have the Ardour 99.2 version installed on my system. What is the correct steps one must take to upgrade to the Ardour 99.3 version? Is it necessary uninstall the .99.2 version, then proceed to install 99.3 version. Presently, the procedure I’m using right now is just to untar .99.3 and run scons with .99.2 still installed. Is this the correct thing to do?

I think from 0.99.2 to 0.99.3, you should have about the same files installed, so just running scons should overwrite the existing files on your system and work out of the box…

The safest way though would be to set PREFIX to something like /usr/local/ardour-0.99.3, and then compare with what you have on your system.

Are you running on MacOSX? If you are, it is perfectly fine to have multiple versions of Ardour. They have the same name though, so you’ll need to keep them in seperate folders.

I’m running RedHat 9.0
