i have been looking at the vsts apparently built natively for linux.. http://www.anticore.org/jucetice/?page_id=7

the other one is the mda vst port.

can someone tell me how to get them running in ardour or are the specific to hosts like jusetice?

cheers,

The easiest way to use those plugs is with the JOST host. You can wire Ardour and JOST together via QJackCtl or any similar patching utility, and you can run multiple instances of JOST. It's a pretty neat host, it handles natively-compiled VSTs, LADSPA, and DSSI plugs, and it has an internal sequencer. I'm pushing kunitoki to add some sort of sync to it, either through JACK transport or a MIDI solution (MIDI clock or MTC).
