Loading 2.8.16 file in 4.7.13 fails

Hello,

loading a 2.8.16 file in 4.7.13 fails. The alert box (in German) says something like “Session could not be loaded, because Audio/MIDI engine could not be configured with the parameters of the session.”

Am I right that I do NOT need an aggregate devices if I want to use builtin audio device and do NOT want to start JACK?

Assuming this to be true Audio/MIDI Config looks like
CoreAudio, Input: no, Output: Built-in. ((I do not need an inputbecause at this state Ardour is only used for editing). Jack is installed but not in use.

Best regards,
Frisio

MacBook Pro 2.53 Ghz Intel Core i5, Mac OS 10.6.8, Ardour 2.8.16 and 4.7.13

We make some efforts at keeping backward compatibility. But we also generally recommend that when working with really old sessions, use a really old version of Ardour.

You should file a bug report, and find some way to make the session file available (preferably by attaching it to the bug report).

Any chance that the current hardware cannot be set to the sample rate of the original session? That would result in an error message similar to the one you posted. Maybe not the most likely problem, but should be easy to check.
