I’m trying to get MIDI to work with Ardour. Since I’m using JACK instead of ALSA, I’ve tried typing in the command “a2jmidid -j default” into the terminal. However, I get these errors:
ERROR: a2j_jack_client_create: Cannot create jack client
ERROR: a2j start: a2j_new() failed
Somebody help?
Whenever I try to use ALSA, i get an error saying “Failed to open audio device”. Sorry for posting twice. I’m new to Ardour and its community and I don’t know how to edit posts.
You’re better off using IRC for this sort of thing. Usefully and efficiently helping you requires a back-and-forth in quick succession that web forums are just not suited for.
