Import markers from a file

I’m working on a feature film mix with Ardour, and the director sent me his ideas with timecode (hh, mm, ss) in a spreadsheet.

How can I get these as markers into my Ardour session?

I guess there should be a way to just write an Ardour script, but I have no idea what and how.

I would like to both import and export markers and regions and happily program it if someone with some experience using the API can hint how to approach this
