any chance of getting this integrated into ardour? obviously the ladspa pitch plugin is no problem, but what about dragging (with snapping) to stretch or shrink waveforms in the arrange and using the rubberband engine to change the tempo? i read somewhere about timefx but can't find it in ardour (plus i also read the quality wasn't the best). the demos i heard of the rubberband tool sound pretty good.

it is very much time consuming though (CPU intensive). I compiled it as a standalone lib and tried the rubberband app on a couple of wav files. It sounds almost OK. You can hear funny artefacts (phase problems here and there, and the bass is sort of doubled or delayed). Still, it sounds very reasonable in general.
