Ardour insists that I do not have X11 installed, and will not start.

X11 definitely is installed, and I have manually started it up, but that doesn't help Ardour.

I am on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.5.1, and X11 version 2.0.

Any help appreciated!

i read that you need to install X11 from the TIGER install DVD, and then install the X11SDK.pkg from the Xcode Tools folder on your Tiger install dvd/cds

This has to do with the way X11 was reworked in Tiger. If you start X11 first, then Ardour, it should boot. I imagine this will be resolved in a future release.

I had to update X11:

after updating ardour works ok.
