All of the documentation I have read indicates that there is a write mode for automation tracks, but the write mode will not show up for controller 63 (which is my sustain pedal.) It shows up for the fader/pan/mute/width, but not for any of my midi controllers. How can I record the midi controller actions in real time?
Ardour records any MIDI CC input to a track that is recording – no need to enable it, no way to disable it. You can’t overdub it onto existing notes though, if that’s what you’re wondering.
I’ve wondered this myself about breath controllers.
Are you sure it’s not the standard MIDI CC 64? Most keyboards, synths, and anything else I’ve seen uses 64 for sustain pedal.
