Is it possible to download older versions of Ardour (version 5.12 don’t even start on OS 10.5)

We do not make them available. If you build from source, you can always checkout any given release tag.
It might be more productive to figure out what your issue is with 5.12 on OS X …
The Intel CPU versions are 10.6 or later. The PPC version is/was 10.5.6

I’ve read somewhere that it was the problem : I have intel based mac with OS < 10.6
Anyway I will give a try to compile from the sources (already done under Linux - I hope I won’t get much in trouble) as soon as I find some time.
