Create http and https links in this forum

Getting Stuff Done How do I .... ?

When composing for this forum, the preview shows no hyperlinking of URLs, and neither do most of the messages. However, it clearly can be done by those with the forum-fu I aspire to. e.g. the second comment at:

https://community.ardour.org/node/15562

There’s nothing in the “Compose tips” page about this:

https://community.ardour.org/filter/tips

Also, why is this “Create Forum Topic” text box so narrow, and what is the grey box above it?

Links are disallowed to discourage spammers.
Paul and possibly a few other privileged members are allowed to override this rule in their own postings.

And I sometimes edit posts to make the links active.
