Workaround for multi Cd and CD length issues / feature request...

Documented here:

http://ardour.org/node/1832

What I do is I export range markers to audiofile...

After naming ranges like this:

02.daybreak
...
06.sloopjohnb

Instead of like this:

daybreak
...
sloopjohnb

This gives me files such as:

02.daybreak.wav
06.sloopjohnb.wav

Then I use this little wav2toc.pl perl script I found here:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2002/11/msg04045.html

as per that post and end up with a toc and wav files that cdrdao can burn for me.

The numbering puts them in the order I want.

For length issues, I guess and load the wavs into xmms which gives me a total length reading. Adjust as needed.

Put the wavs for each CD into a subdirectory for each CD and process using wav2toc.pl in each directory actually.

I am thinking of tweaking wav2toc.pl to add the song name from the file into the CDTEXT for each track.

all the best,

drew

isn't a program like k3b enough ? once you have your wav files I mean. Unless you mean to NOT use any GUI ?

What about the gaps between tracks? Is there an auto way to deal with that in k3b?

I use k3b for a lot of my needs, but haven't dug too deep into those sorts of things in it...
