Has anyone gotten a Digidesign Digi 001 to work in ardour on linux? My singer bought an ancient mac on ebay that has a pci card based Digi 001 in it. The mac is virtually useless, and if we could get that interface to work with ardour it would be a pretty big step up from the soundblaster pci128 we’re currently using in our recording rig.
“warm fuzzy feelings” and digidesign are more or less orthogonal. Digi has no intentions (or have declared no intentions) to ever have their hardware supported on a Linux platform. I would strongly suggest giving up on the idea.
I’m guessing I was not as clear as I could have been. I’m wanting to get this hardware working under linux on a pc. I haven’t gotten my hands on it yet to see if it’s even physically possible, but he says it’s a PCI card.
So far I’ve not been getting any warm fuzzy feelings from what I’ve been reading.
