question about metering

Hello, i have a stupid question but why the meter scale dosen’t match whith the fader scale ??
The 0 db of the fader is in front off the -3 db at meter , is very strange , is there any reason to do this ?

The role of the fader and the meter are totally different.

The fader value tells you how much attenuation is being applied to the signal. The meter value tells you what levels (in dbFS) the signal is reaching. There is no particular reason for them to be related - several very nice DAWs and h/w consoles have scalable meters where the range displayed doesn’t even span anything close to the full range of the fader.
