Noob to this: where to find libcurl

Hello I’m new here. Sorry for any dumb questions, misguided assumptions, etc.

I’m in 10.4.11 on an Intel mac. Ardour 2.7.1 won’t boot. Spotlight yields no results for “libcurl”. I’m not a programmer; I don’t have the developer tools installed on my Mac. Where can I find the libcurl version I need? Google points me to a million different versions of it, none of which are named “1.4”.

Would it be a vastly better thing if I were running Leopard?

Realized I didn’t have a recent security update installed–Ardour now opens. Still get no results though searching my drives for “libcurl”. But hey!
