I am curious how to monitor tracks within Ardour (softwear monitoring) while recording; both a track(s) currently being recorded to, and previously recorded tracks. The manual section dealing with this looks like its still in progress, and I haven’t been able to find info elsewhere. Is there anyone who’s figured this out who can clue me in? Thanks.
Just enable software monitoring and disable hardware monitoring in the options dialog. Then play with the “auto-input” button in the editor window and you should be able to find a mode which works for you.
