I’ve written a new ebuild for gentoo which allows Ardour to be controlled by a TV remote. Details here if you want to test it out: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6539539.html#6539539. Hopefully it will be in the pro-audio overlay, or portage itself, soon.
If anyone is interested, I could try to create versions for other distros. I say “try” because although I’ve got a fair bit of experience with php, and a little with bash, I don’t have any with perl, python, portage or any other package managers.
Remote control is great if you’re set up in front of a mic some distance from the computer, or if you just want to sit back in an armchair and listen to the mix.
