How do I use the output of a bus (or track) to automate an other bus (or track) ?

I would like to use the output of a track (or bus) to do the automation of the amplitude of another track (or bus).
Is this possible with Ardour ?

The only thing I can think about is to use side-chain ducking. See my replies #5 and #8 here : http://ardour.org/node/3882

It won’t be a perfect amplitude follow, it’s mostly used in dance music to lower the volume of the other tracks when the kick drum hits or to lower background music when someone speaks (in, say, a documentary or similar)
