Llevo dos meses intentando instalar mi BCF2000 en linux para usarlo con Ardour y no consigo configurarlo. He usado los siguientes manuales: http://ardour.org/files/manual/sn-bcf2000.html y http://ardour.org/files/manual/sn-mackie.html
Aunque mi ingles no es muy extenso, he seguido los pasos de ambos manuales uno por uno sin resultado alguno. No se si tengo mal configurada la controladora, el Ardour, el Linux, los drivers o que.
Alguien, por favor, podria ayudarme?

Ya conectaste el BCF2000 en el panel de MIDI de qjackctl a Ardour? Y en Ardour lo estas conectando como una interfaz Midi generica?, no se si el BCF2000 tenga soporte tipo Mackie, si es asi puedes probar eso en Ardour. Lo mas importante es que si lo estes conectando via qjackctl a Ardour para que Ardour lo pueda reconocer y funcione.
Como lo estas intentando conectar? Con cable MIDI, USB o que?

Tienes que decidirte por una de las dos formas de usar el BCF2000 con ardour2, (first, you should decide…)
- Controlador MIDI genérico
- Modo mackie
La segunda opción trae un mapeado por defecto que personalmente encuentro muy útil y bien pensado. Es lo que yo he solido usar y lo que te recomiendo. El método para hacerlo de un modo u otro es bastante diferente.
(as the method to get it working is rather different. Mackie mode’s mapping is very useful and well thought).
Por otro lado, este sitio es en inglés, si preguntas en los foros de Hispasonic -> GNU/Linux, escribiré una guía detallada.

Tengo conectado el ontrolador por USB, pero uno de los problemas que tengo al usar los manuales es que no me lo reconoce como MIDI, sino como dispositivo ALSA. ¿Como puedo cambiar eso?
No me importa usar un protocolo u otro de momento. Lo primero que uqiero es que me funcione, y luego ya ire probando funciones y cambiando a mi gusto, para usarla, por ejemplo, para controlar las eq.

cuando esta conectado y prendido corre una terminal y escribe:
lsusb
y pega aqui lo que te refleje. Esto es solo para primero ver que la computadora lo este reconociendo.
En qjackctl, hay una ventana que se llama “connections” o “conexiones” debes tener pestañas que digan “Audio” “MIDI” y “ALSA” como este ejemplo:
Si no tienes la pestaña “MIDI” no deberia ser tanto problema, puedes probar en la que dice “ALSA”, lo importante es que ahi este tu interfaz, conectas el MIDI out a Ardour Control IN, solo hazlo via la pestaña MIDI o ALSA.
joegiampaoli, tambien tienes experiencias con el bcf y ardour 3? lo que me pasa es que en ardour 3 no encuentro la connexion midi en las pestañas de jack, solo sale el bcf, pero ardour no… puede ser que tengo que cambiar algo en los preferencias, o que hay otra manera para usar el bcf? …
Yo aún no he probado el BCF2000 en ardour3 pero en general, si tienes hardware MIDI cuyos puertos aparecen en alsa MIDI y los quieres conectar a puertos jack MIDI necesitas lanzar “a2jmidid -e”.

Quizas quieras probar el a2jmidid como menciona Pablo si es que no tienes la pestaña MIDI en qjackctl y ademas no te aparezca el BCF2000 en la pestaña de ALSA . Ahi seguro podras conectar cualquier interfaz MIDI a Ardour ya que tiene soporte para todo tipo de interfaces MIDI como “legacy”.
P.S. No sabia que tambien hablabas castellano 
si el problema es que el bcf parece en jack, pero ardour3 no, solo parece en las connexiones audio pero no en pestaña midi ni en alsa… intentare mas tarde otra vez… gracias!
PS: pues si estuve viviendo una temporada en tierras espanolas… ya hace tiempo…,y no sabia que el foro de ardour es un buen sitio para practiar casellano
Estas usando JACK1 o JACK2?
JACK2 por alguna razon no agarra bien los nombres de las interfaces MIDI y los muestra como “system:midi_capture_x”
En qjackctl conecte mi Oxygen8-V2 a Ardour y en Ardour me muestra los nombres como indico.

I mean no offense, but it’s a shame this discourse is in Spanish. I can read it just fine, but others may not be able to glean its facts and assistance. The BCF2000 is a common device in use with Linux audio software, I suspect more than a few people will be interested in the contents of this thread, and they are likely to want to read it in English. Perhaps Joe can prep a translation for those users ?

Heh I will say that what I can understand of it Joe has been doing a good job with assisting with it, however there was apparently some confusion on how to set the BCF into Mackie mode as there was apparently a missing user manual IIUC.
In as far as Mackie mode in A3, I am waiting for the betas on OS X and I will dig into that a bit more, I haven’t had time to port over A3 any more to OS X than I did a while ago(And someone else took up the work and continued from there, but it still isn’t working at this point). My impression is that some definite modification to the code will be necessary to account for a different buffering structure from the switch to Jack MIDI, but I won’t know for certain till I see it in action myself and have time to modify the code.
However I think the answer provided was to use the BCF in generic MIDI mode in A3, which should work fine, and in many ways may be better with a proper map than Mackie mode at the moment as it now supports banking as well. All this being said, A3 discussions as much as possible should stay in IRC or on Mantis still for the moment, even if in a different language than English:)
I have stayed out of it primarily because I was never strong in Spanish and I am very rusty at this point, but if there are questions or a summary to at least confirm my reading I can at least give it a shot;)
SeabladeI dont really understand what you re ashamed of, we re in a forum where 99,9% of the discussions are in english. so it s just fair to help people that have difficulties with english in spanish or whatever language it is… I d say…
i for myself prefer a Babylon of ardour forum to a lot of forums split up by languages…
but yes, we should then try to provide a translation too…!!
