I cannot get active inputs with my Fast Track.
But jack got this:

control device hw:1
Acquire audio card Audio1
creating alsa driver ... hw:1|hw:1|512|2|44100|0|0|nomon|swmeter|-|32bit
control device hw:1
Using ALSA driver USB-Audio running on card 1 - M-Audio FastTrack Pro at usb-0000:00:1a.7-1.3, full speed
ALSA: Cannot open PCM device alsa_pcm for capture. Falling back to playback-only mode
configuring for 44100Hz, period = 512 frames (11.6 ms), buffer = 2 periods
ALSA: final selected sample format for playback: 16bit little-endian
ALSA: use 2 periods for playback
21:03:50.625 JACK was started with PID=1829.
Cannot use real-time scheduling (RR/10)(1: Operation not permitted)
AcquireSelfRealTime error
21:03:52.771 JACK connection change.
21:03:52.772 Server configuration saved to "/home/mthz/.jackdrc".
21:03:52.774 Statistics reset.
21:03:52.786 Client activated.
Cannot lock down memory area (Cannot allocate memory)

Is that the problem? What that means?

I suspect you are not a member of the "audio" group. I suggest running the realTimeConfigQuickScan.pl script you find here: http://wiki.linuxmusicians.com/doku.php?id=system_configuration . See also the section on audio group on the page.
