I still have a lot to learn about recording / mixing / mastering, but here it is anyway.

Just having a listen now. Wasn't expecting it to be good with what you said. Don't be so hard on yourself. Not half bad at all. I would say that i think the lyrics sound a bit on the loud side and the reverb is a bit disjointed with the rest of the song (backing vocals fit in much better)) but otherwise i think it works pretty well. Good song too :) Tell us a bit about your equipment and what plugins, etc you used :)

Thanks for the encouraging words!
We used a Samson QKit for micing the drums, a set of Shure SM58 and Beheringer C1 for the guitars and a Fame F47 for the vocals. The Workstation, a Core2 with 2 GB RAM, is equipped with an RME 9652 interface. Harrison MIxbus runs on Ubuntu 11.10 and a full set of LinuxDSP plugins has been used.
Lesson learned: don't let the guitar players switch their sound during the recording process, use multiple tracks instead! :-)
