I haven't started using Ardour yet, but I'm hoping to start soon. As a way to get my feet wet, I'd like to try importing some tracks my musical partner has recorded on his Mac using Digital Performer (dp). We've just recorded our practice sessions with two mics, each going to a separate track.

I'm sure I could just have him write the tracks to a stereo mix where he pans the two tracks to hard left and hard right, and then I'd import them as some kind of stereo audio mix. I'm wondering if there's a better way, though, e.g. if I can import his dp project (if that's what it's called).

thanks for any suggestions,
Bruce

I don't think there is a way to open a dp session persay. The only thing that can be done is to bounce the DP tracks to wav or aiff files and import those into ardour.
