Captured audio sounds slow

I set up two mics through a MOTU 828 and captured to an external hard drive. When I went back to listen to it the audio had slowed down. I played around with a pitch shift to get it to sound right and it was around 2 to 2.5 semitones. Does anyone know what could have caused this?

Did you do the listening on the same soundcard? Did you have jack running at the same sampling rate at playback as you were running when you captured the sound?

This has nothing to do with Ardour as Ardour doesn’t do anything to the recorded signal. It records whatever comes out of jack bit-perfect. On playback, Ardour doesn’t touch the speed unless you’ve used the “timefx” tool or the shuttle/jog control to engage faster/slower playback than normal…
