EBU Peak Envelope Chunk (WAV "levl" chunk)

Dear Ardour community,

I wanted to ask, if there are any intents to support the EBU “Peak Envelope Chunk” (levl) in Ardour for facilitating waveform display of e.g. broadcast wave files (BWF)?

I do not know of any current plans to do so, you are welcome to write a patch to do so. However before you do that I would ask what the benefits of this are to you?

rooker: we would not use the EBU data even if it was available. We would prefer to recompute the sample values than use this, for a variety of technical reasons.
