Plugins have no effect when applying them to a track.

I am running Debian with KDE manager. I used apt-get install to setup ardour, ladspa, alsamixer and various plugin packages. When I go into ardour I open the mixer and goto the black rectangular area beneath the volume sliders, and right click, New plugin. All the plugins show up (I get really excited at this part!), I select one, and click add. I right click teh plugin and select Activate. Regardless of anything I do at this point, the plugins have no effect on the track I already have recorded in my editor.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, ok. I didn’t realize you control these plugins by clicking on the actual wav/track they produce when added to an instrument. Very impressive stuff, much looking forward to making ardour my new fav proggy.
